Meet Kim Kossick

Kim has been an attorney at the New Hampshire Public Defender since 2006 and has worked in the Manchester office from 2007-2011 and from 2014-present.

As a trial attorney, Kim has worked with police departments, prosecutors, judges and court staff across the State.  She is experienced in all facets of the criminal courts from juvenile court to homicide defense.

For the last eighteen years, Kim has seen what works and what does not.

  • Residents of Hillsborough County deserve a County Attorney’s office that works for the entire County, from Peterborough to Pelham.

  • Residents of Hillsborough County deserve to know their tax dollars are spent in an efficient, effective manner.

  • Residents of Hillsborough County who are victims of crimes deserve to have their cases prosecuted in a compassionate, effective manner.

As Hillsborough County Attorney, Kim will:

  • Prioritize cooperation with circuit court prosecutors and local police departments.

    • Resolving non-violent and low level matters in the circuit courts allows attorneys prosecuting felonies to prioritize what is important.

    • This reduces caseloads for the attorneys prosecuting felonies, reduces time local police have to spend in court, and reduces case loads in the Superior Court.

  • Prioritize communication and cooperation between the Northern and Southern offices of the Hillsborough County Attorney.

  • Respect the time jurors take out of their lives by reducing the chance of mistrials.

    • Institute an internal policy regarding discovery.  Including the disclosure of the Exculpatory Evidence Schedule and other exculpatory evidence.

  • Prioritize treatment-based and specialty courts

    • The best way to reduce crime and recidivism is to reduce the root causes.

  • Be in the courtroom as often as possible.

    • It saves time and money to have a County Attorney who can assist on  cases and conduct hearings.

  • Foster a culture of respect for all people.

  • Have an open door policy for anyone to meet and voice their concerns.
